A key element of the transmission control system – a high-quality oil pressure sensor, designed for a wide range of JCB machines (3CX, 4CX, telehandlers, etc.). This is a precision sensor that monitors the oil pressure in the gearbox (e.g., on the clutch packs) and sends a signal to the control module. A correct pressure reading is essential for smooth gear shifts, drive engagement, and transmission diagnostics.
GX-AFTER is the smart choice for your machine. We provide high-class replacement parts that combine excellent quality with an attractive price. Each part is carefully verified to ensure full compatibility and reliability you can depend on.

The list above is for reference. Before purchasing, we recommend a visual check and verification of the part number in the parts catalogue for your machine.
A faulty pressure sensor can cause incorrect or harsh gear engagement, creating a risk of sudden machine movement. Before working on the transmission, immobilize the machine and secure it against rolling. Disconnect the battery.
The gearbox oil pressure sensor informs the controller whether the pressure on the clutch packs is sufficient to engage the drive. Its failure leads to incorrect readings, resulting in shifting problems or a complete loss of drive.

Besides obvious leaks, an electrical fault can be diagnosed with a multimeter by checking the resistance across the sensor's pins or the output voltage signal. Incorrect or missing readings qualify the sensor for replacement. Often, a sensor fault is also logged in the transmission's control unit.
2. Is this the same as an engine oil pressure sensor? No. An engine oil pressure sensor measures the pressure in the engine's lubrication system and has a different part number and operating parameters. This sensor is exclusively for monitoring pressure within the transmission's hydraulic system.
3. My machine jerks when changing gears. Is the sensor to blame? It could be. If the sensor is sending an incorrect (e.g., delayed) pressure signal to the controller, the controller might engage the clutches at the wrong time, which manifests as jerking. However, other causes include worn solenoids, low oil pressure, or worn clutch plates inside the gearbox.
