The thermostat is the "brain" of the cooling system. It regulates the flow of coolant to maintain the optimal engine operating temperature. If your machine is overheating, or conversely, cannot reach the proper operating temperature (engine is underheated), or the temperature gauge is fluctuating wildly, these are classic symptoms of a faulty thermostat. A thermostat stuck in the closed position leads to overheating and a blown head gasket, while one stuck in the open position leads to increased fuel consumption and accelerated engine wear.

The accuracy and quality of materials guarantee long and trouble-free use without the need for frequent replacement.
The thermostat is fully adapted to work with the original housing and gaskets, ensuring a consistent repair.
The CORESPEX brand is a proven and safe alternative that offers quality comparable to original parts at a much better price.
Installing a new thermostat on an old, deformed gasket is a guarantee of an immediate leak. Always use a new housing gasket.
While replacing the thermostat, inspect the tension of the V-belt and check for any leaks from the water pump. This is a perfect time for a comprehensive cooling system service.
After replacement and refilling the system with new coolant (e.g., HYPTRON), the cooling system must be thoroughly bled according to the service manual to avoid engine overheating.
Answer: It is one of the most common causes. Other possibilities include a faulty water pump, a clogged radiator, a malfunctioning fan, or a low coolant level. Replacing the thermostat is the simplest and cheapest diagnostic step.
Question: My machine's engine is constantly underheated. Is the thermostat also to blame?Answer: Yes. This means the thermostat is stuck in the open position, and the coolant is constantly circulating in the large circuit, preventing the engine from reaching its optimal operating temperature.
Question: Is the 82°C opening temperature correct?Answer: Yes, this is the standard and manufacturer-recommended operating temperature for Perkins AR and AK series engines, ensuring optimal performance and low fuel consumption.
