A genuine transmission oil pressure sensor (Powershift or Synchro-Shuttle). Its purpose is to accurately measure the oil pressure in the system and transmit this information to the gauge or the machine's control system. It is a key component of the early warning system against gearbox failure, protecting it from serious and costly damage caused by low oil pressure.
Genuine JCB product – a guarantee of the highest quality, perfect fit, and 100% compatibility with your machine.
| Brand (Machine Type) | Model |
|---|---|
| JCB (Backhoe Loaders) | 3CX, 4CX |
| JCB (Telehandlers) | Loadall |
| JCB (Forklifts) | RTFL (Rough Terrain) |
The list above is for reference. We recommend visually checking the connector and thread on your machine before purchasing.
Replacing the sensor is a perfect opportunity to check the condition and level of the transmission oil. If it is old or contaminated, replace it with new, high-quality HYPTRON oil, which will provide optimal lubrication and protect the gearbox.
The oil pressure sensor is a key component of the transmission protection system. Its failure can lead to a lack of information about low pressure, which can result in clutch seizure, damage to the oil pump, and consequently a very expensive overhaul of the entire gearbox.
Replace the sensor if:
A faulty sensor risks gearbox seizure.
The cost of replacing a sensor is negligible compared to a transmission overhaul. Protect your machine from the worst-case scenario – order a genuine JCB sensor today and be sure you will always know about an oil pressure problem in time.
That's one of the possible causes. Before replacing the sensor, check the transmission oil level and the condition of the oil filter. If both are fine and the light is still on, the next steps are to check the oil pressure with a gauge and inspect the sensor's electrical circuit.
2. What is the difference between this sensor and a temperature sensor?Although they look similar, they perform completely different functions. A pressure sensor reacts to the force of the oil, while a temperature sensor reacts to its heat. They have different internal constructions and cannot be used interchangeably.
3. How can I test if my old sensor is faulty? The easiest test is to swap it with a new, working sensor. You can also use a multimeter to check if the sensor correctly opens and closes the circuit. After disconnecting the wire and starting the engine, the light should not be on. After grounding the wire to the gearbox housing, the light should illuminate. If this happens, but it doesn't with the sensor connected, the sensor is faulty.
