Telescopic Handlers (504, 505, 531, 540), Wheeled Loaders, Forklifts
The wheel hub carrier is the foundation of the drive wheel. It houses the bearings, seals, and the entire planetary gear set (final drive). If you notice visible cracks, persistent oil leaks that cannot be fixed by replacing seals, or wheel play despite replacing the bearings, these are classic symptoms of a damaged housing. A cracked housing risks destroying the final drive and, in extreme cases, the wheel assembly separating from the axle, leading to a dangerous situation.

The hub carrier is fully adapted to work with original bearings, seals, and final drives, ensuring a consistent repair.
The GX-AFTER brand is a proven and safe alternative that offers quality comparable to original parts at a much better price.
Installing a new hub on old bearings and seals is uneconomical and leads to rapid failure. Always replace these components with new ones.
The cause of a cracked housing is often a prior failure of the final drive. Before installation, thoroughly inspect the condition of the ring gear, planet gears, and sun gear.
Use a hydraulic press and appropriate sleeves to seat the bearing races in the new housing. Hitting them with a hammer can damage both the bearing and the housing.
After the repair, fill the axle with fresh, dedicated gear oil, such as HYPTRON. This will ensure proper lubrication and cooling of the new parts.
Answer: Not always. First, the seal should be replaced. The housing needs replacement if the leak returns, which may indicate a crack or a worn seal seat.
Question: Do I have to replace both housings on the same axle?Answer: It is not absolutely required. You should replace the damaged housing, but it is worth inspecting the other side for micro-cracks at the same time.
Question: What is the main cause of hub carrier failure?Answer: The most common causes are bearing failure leading to wobble and shock loads, excessive overloading of the machine, or material fatigue after many years of intensive work.
