A high-quality slide bush, made of a special bronze alloy. It is a key component of the steering ram joint, mounted in its eye. Its function is to provide smooth rotational movement for the pin and to bear the enormous forces generated during wheel steering, minimizing friction and protecting more expensive components (the ram eye, the knuckle) from wear.
A CORESPEX brand product – premium quality replacements that guarantee long life and reliability, even when working in heavy-duty conditions.

For a comprehensive and durable repair, always replace steering ram bushings in a set with new pins and seals. Regular greasing of the joints with high-quality HYPTRON grease containing molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) drastically extends the life of the bushings.
Bushings in the steering ram are sacrificial components designed to wear out to protect much more expensive components like the ram itself or the steering knuckle. Ignoring worn bushings leads to play in the steering system, which is not only imprecise but also dangerous.
Replace the bushings if you notice:

Is your machine "wandering" on the road with play in the wheels? Don't wait for a dangerous situation!
Worn steering bushings are a direct path to losing control of the machine. Order a complete set of CORESPEX pins and bushings today and restore safe and precise steering to your machine!
Bronze bushings are used in very high-load, low-speed joints. Bronze has excellent sliding properties and is more resistant to seizure in the event of a temporary lack of lubrication than a steel bush, which is crucial in such an important part of the steering system.
2. I have play on the pin, but the old bush looks okay. Do I have to replace it?Yes. Even if the bush is not cracked, the play indicates that its internal diameter has worn. Installing a new, tight pin in an old, worn bush will not eliminate the play and will lead to rapid wear of the pin. Both components should always be replaced at the same time.
3. What happens if I keep working with worn bushings in the steering system?Prolonged operation with loose pins causes the bores in the ram and knuckle to wear out. The holes become oval, and their repair is very expensive and requires specialized machining (a mobile line boring machine). More importantly, excessive play in the steering system is extremely dangerous and can lead to a loss of control over the machine.
