The bucket pin bush is a key sliding component that ensures smooth attachment movement and bears enormous loads. If you notice excessive play in the bucket, hear knocking sounds during operation, and digging is imprecise, these are classic symptoms of a worn bush. Ignoring the problem leads to wear of the bores in the arm and linkage, which is one of the most expensive repairs on a mini excavator, requiring line boring.

The GX-AFTER brand is a proven and safe alternative that offers quality comparable to original parts at a much better price.
Installing new bushes on an old, worn pin is pointless – the play will return immediately. Always replace bushes together with a new pin and seals.
Before installing new bushes, ensure that the bores in the arm and linkage are not oval. If necessary, they must be repaired (line-bored).
After installation, generously grease the joint through the nipples. Use high-quality grease, such as HYPTRON, and replenish it regularly according to the service intervals.
Answer: The easiest way is to pry the bucket with a crowbar or another machine. Any noticeable play (knocking) on the pin connecting the bucket to the arm or linkage indicates worn bushes and pin.
Question: Can I replace only one, most worn bush?Answer: It is highly not recommended. The bushes in a single joint (e.g., two in the linkage) wear at a similar rate. Replacing only one will cause the old, worn bush to take more load, leading to rapid failure.
Question: What happens if I operate with worn bushes?Answer: Operating with play on the attachment causes the bores in the arm and linkage to wear out. Repairing these elements is one of the most expensive repairs on a mini excavator, many times exceeding the cost of replacing pins and bushes in time.
