A high-quality main pivot pin, made of high-strength, induction-hardened steel. It is a key component of the joint connecting the main boom to the dipper arm. Its function is to bear the enormous forces generated during digging and to ensure smooth arm movement. Precision manufacturing and proper hardness guarantee maximum service life in the toughest working conditions.
GX-AFTER is the smart choice for your machine. We provide high-class replacement parts that combine excellent quality with an attractive price. Each part is carefully verified to ensure full compatibility and reliability you can depend on.

The list above is for reference. Before purchasing, we recommend verifying the dimensions on your machine.
Replacing pins in an excavator arm requires it to be immobilized and secured. Always use certified axle stands with an appropriate load capacity. Never rely solely on the machine's hydraulics. Use safety glasses and gloves.
The pin is the pivot axis for the arm. A worn or cracked pin leads to play, which damages the bores in the arms (a "sloppy" joint), which in turn requires a very expensive re-boring repair.
Ignoring play leads to wear in the arm bores.
The cost of re-boring worn-out holes is many times greater than the cost of a preventative replacement of pins and bushings. Protect your machine from expensive repairs – order a complete GX-AFTER set and restore the factory rigidity to the joints.

This pin eliminates play at the key joint between the boom and dipper, but play can also come from other pivot points (e.g., ram mounts, kingpost, bucket). A full refurbishment requires checking and replacing all worn pins and bushings on the entire arm.
2. How can I check if a pin is worn?A worn pin often has a visible "step" or an oval cross-section where it has been working in the bushing. You can measure it with a caliper in several places to check if its diameter is uniform along its working length.
3. What happens if I keep working with a worn pin?Prolonged operation with a loose pin causes the bores in the arms to wear out. The holes become oval, and their repair is very expensive and requires specialized machining (a mobile line boring machine). In extreme cases, the pin can break, leading to a dangerous failure.
