A durable exhaust system muffler, designed for JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders equipped with Perkins Tier 2 (RE, RG codes) engines, produced between 2001-2005. It is a key component responsible for reducing engine noise and ensuring optimal exhaust gas flow, which affects the power and efficiency of the engine. This specific model features an angled mounting base. Made from high-quality steel resistant to high temperatures and corrosion, it ensures long service life and effective sound dampening.
GX-AFTER is the smart choice for your machine. We provide high-class replacement parts that combine excellent quality with an attractive price. Each part is carefully verified to ensure full compatibility and reliability you can depend on.

The list above is for reference. It is key to match the muffler to your specific engine model (Perkins Tier 2 RE/RG).
Exhaust system components reach very high temperatures. Before starting work, ensure the engine is completely cool. Use protective gloves to avoid burns.
The muffler is crucial for operator comfort and proper engine function. Its failure (burnout, corrosion, blockage) leads to excessive noise, a drop in engine power, and in extreme cases, overheating of the turbocharger.
A loud machine is not just an inconvenience, but a risk of engine damage.
A clogged muffler increases back pressure in the exhaust system, which can lead to turbocharger damage and engine overheating. Don't risk serious failures – order a new, robust GX-AFTER muffler and restore your machine's proper operating parameters and acoustic comfort.

Back pressure is the resistance that exhaust gases encounter on their way from the cylinder to the tailpipe outlet. Every muffler generates some back pressure, but when it's clogged with soot or damaged internally, this resistance increases dramatically. Too much back pressure makes it difficult for the engine to "exhale" exhaust gases, which leads to a loss of power and an increase in temperature.
2. Can a damaged muffler damage the turbocharger?Yes, definitely. A clogged muffler prevents hot exhaust gases from freely exiting the system, which leads to an extreme increase in temperature in the turbocharger. This can cause the turbine rotor to overheat and be damaged, and can even crack its housing.
3. What's the difference between Perkins RE/RG and later DieselMax engines?Perkins RE and RG engines are code designations for the Perkins 1004-40T units that met the Tier 2 emission standard and were installed in JCB machines until about 2005. After that, JCB introduced its own DieselMax engines, which complied with newer standards (Tier 3 and higher) and had a different design, including a different exhaust system layout. Mufflers for these engines are not interchangeable.
