Robust 122/62400 fuel filler cap from the GX-AFTER offer. It is a large diameter (90 mm) metal cap, dedicated to older generations of JCB machines, produced mainly before 1997. It is used in 3CX/4CX backhoe loaders (grey cabs, Project 7), Loadall telehandlers, and older models of skid steers, forklifts, and wheel loaders.
The GX-AFTER cap is a faithful copy of the original metal part that was installed in classic JCB machines. Durable construction and a thick gasket ensure tank tightness, preventing fuel leaks and contamination ingress.

The cap fits older machines (metal tanks). Newer machines (with plastic tanks) usually have smaller, screw-in plastic caps.
The cap is supplied with a set of keys. In case of fuel system problems in older machines, it is also worth checking the condition of the fuel filler strainer and replacing the fuel filter.
Driving without a cap or with a leaking cap risks fuel spillage, creating a fire hazard and environmental contamination. Additionally, water and dirt can enter the tank, which can damage the injection pump.
Cap 122/62400 closes the fuel tank.

Usually not. Plastic tanks (installed in newer JCBs) have smaller, screw-in caps with threads. This cap is a bayonet type ("push and twist") for metal fillers.
JCB caps usually have a universal key pattern for a given cap series, but they do not always fit the ignition or door (which often use the 701/45501 key).
Caps with a diameter of 90 mm were standard in the "golden era" of construction machinery of the 80s and 90s. Their large diameter facilitated refueling from jerry cans on the construction site, which was commonplace at that time.
