An essential G.E.T. mounting component – a complete, hardened plow bolt (carriage bolt) in a high-tensile grade. This set, consisting of a bolt and a matched hex nut, is designed for fastening bolt-on teeth (center or side) and side cutters on CAT, Komatsu, and Case machines. The bolt features a countersunk head with a square neck, ensuring a flush fit and preventing rotation during tightening for maximum clamping force.
GX-AFTER is the smart choice for your machine. We provide high-class replacement parts that combine excellent quality with an attractive price. Each part is carefully verified to ensure full compatibility and reliability you can depend on.
| Brand | Type / Series / Model |
|---|---|
| CATERPILLAR (CAT) | Various excavators, loaders, and backhoe loaders. |
| KOMATSU | Various excavators, loaders, and backhoe loaders. |
| CASE | Various excavators, loaders, and backhoe loaders. |
The list above is for reference. Fitment is determined by matching the dimensions: 5/8" (15.9 mm) thread diameter and 63 mm overall length.
Never reuse old plow bolts and nuts. They are single-use items that stretch. Reusing them risks bolt failure and violent detachment of the tooth or edge during operation, which poses a fatal hazard.
The plow bolt is a critical fastener that transfers immense shear and impact forces between the tooth and the cutting edge. Its failure leads to an immediate loss of the working attachment.

It is a special type of bolt that has a countersunk (tapered) head and a square neck just below the head. This square neck locks into the hole in the tooth/lip, preventing the bolt from spinning while you tighten the nut.
2. Can I use a standard 10.9 hex bolt instead? No. A standard bolt has a hex head that is not designed to transfer shear forces in a countersunk hole. Using a regular bolt will cause it to shear off quickly or break, resulting in tooth loss.
3. Why must I re-torque the bolts after a few hours?During the first hours of work, the tooth and bolt will "seat" perfectly into the cutting edge under immense forces and vibration. This can cause the nut to become slightly loose. Re-tightening the bolts after this break-in period ensures full clamping force for the rest of the tooth's life.
