The 4WD solenoid valve is a key control component responsible for engaging and disengaging the 4-wheel drive in a Powershift transmission. It receives an electrical signal from the in-cab switch and controls the flow of oil. If your machine does not engage 4WD, the 4WD will not disengage (the machine feels "bound up" on hard surfaces), or the transmission fuse blows when switching, these are classic symptoms of a faulty solenoid. A malfunctioning solenoid prevents operation in difficult terrain or leads to drivetrain damage when driving on pavement.

The accuracy and quality of materials guarantee long and trouble-free use without the need for frequent replacement.
The solenoid is fully adapted to work with the original transmission and electrical system, ensuring a consistent repair.
The GX-AFTER brand is a proven and safe alternative that offers quality comparable to original parts at a much better price.
Before starting any work on the electrical system, for your own safety, always disconnect the negative (-) terminal from the battery.
Before replacing the solenoid, check the fuse, relay, in-cab switch, and the wiring and connector. Sometimes the cause of the failure lies in the electrics, not the solenoid itself.
Before removing the old solenoid, thoroughly clean the area around it on the gearbox block. Even the smallest contaminant that gets inside can jam the new valve.
Oil contaminants are the number one enemy of solenoids. It is a good practice to service the transmission with new HYPTRON oil and a REDX filter when replacing the solenoid.
Answer: It is a primary suspect. You should also check the in-cab switch, the fuse, the relay, and any potential mechanical damage in the axle itself.
Question: I can't disengage the 4WD. What is the cause?Answer: This is a classic symptom of the plunger inside the solenoid being stuck in the open position. It could also be a fault in the in-cab switch, which is continuously supplying power.
Question: Where is this solenoid located?Answer: The solenoid is screwed into the valve block on the Powershift transmission. It is usually easily accessible from the side or top of the gearbox.
