A grease nipple (or fitting) is a crucial service point that allows grease to be injected into pins, bearings, and other moving joints. If your grease nipple is broken off, corroded, its ball is stuck, or it's clogged with dirt, proper lubrication becomes impossible. Ignoring the problem leads to "dry" operation, which in a short time results in the seizure and destruction of pins and bushings, generating very high repair costs.

A functional grease nipple is the only way to effectively lubricate key joints in your machine, even the hard-to-reach ones.
This is the cheapest part that protects pins and bushings worth thousands from seizure and destruction.
Replacing a damaged grease nipple takes a few moments and is one of the basic service activities.
Before screwing in a new grease nipple, thoroughly clean the old, dirty thread in the hole (e.g. with a wire brush) to ensure a tight connection.
When tightening the nipple, position it at an angle that allows for the easiest access with the grease gun coupler.
Before connecting the grease gun, always wipe the nipple tip with a clean cloth. Injecting dirt and sand into the joint is the most common service mistake.
Answer: These are two different, non-interchangeable thread standards. The imperial BSP thread is commonly used in British machines like JCB. This fitting has a 1/8" BSP thread.
Question: When should I use an angled nipple instead of a straight one?Answer: Angled nipples are used in hard-to-reach places where connecting a grease gun to a straight nipple would be impossible or very difficult.
Question: What if grease won't go in despite a new nipple?Answer: The grease channel in the pin is likely clogged with old, hardened grease or dirt. In that case, the pin must be removed and thoroughly cleaned.
