The wheel stud and nut are critical components that fasten the wheel to the drive axle hub, carrying the entire load of the machine. If your wheel nuts constantly come loose, you feel vibrations or hear knocking from the wheel area, the thread is damaged, or a stud has sheared off, these are classic signs of wear. Operating with damaged or loose studs is extremely dangerous – it leads to elongation of the holes in the wheel rim and, in the worst case, can result in the wheel detaching during operation.

The GX-AFTER brand is a proven and safe alternative that offers quality comparable to original parts at a much better price.
If one stud is damaged, the others are likely fatigued as well. For safety, always replace all studs and nuts on one wheel.
Before installation, carefully clean the splines in the hub and the mating surfaces of the rim from rust and dirt.
Press the stud into the hub using a press or slowly draw it in with a nut and washers. Never hammer the stud in, as this can damage the hub bearings.
This is the most critical step! Tighten the nuts in a criss-cross (star) pattern and to the torque recommended in the service manual. Under-tightening risks the wheel coming loose, while over-tightening can cause the stud to shear. Re-torque after the first hour of work.
Answer: Yes, this is the main symptom. Studs stretch under load. They lose their elastic properties and are no longer able to maintain the correct clamping torque. They must be replaced with new ones.
Question: Can I replace just one broken stud?Answer: It is highly not recommended. The failure of one stud indicates material fatigue in the others. For complete safety, you should always replace the full set on the entire wheel.
Question: What is the correct tightening torque for these nuts?Answer: The tightening torque is crucial and varies depending on the axle and machine type. It must be checked in the service manual. Incorrect torque is the most common cause of damage.
