The clutch drum piston is a key executive component in a Powershift automatic transmission. Moved by oil pressure, it compresses a pack of friction and steel plates to engage a gear or direction of travel. If your machine has no drive forward or reverse, gears are "slipping" or engage with a delay, or the transmission is overheating, these are classic symptoms of a cracked piston or damaged seals. This failure immobilizes the machine and prevents further work.

Smooth gear shifting
Eliminates "no drive" and gear "slipping" issues, restoring the machine's full power and smooth operation.
A new, sealed piston protects the friction discs from burning and prevents further, costly damage to the gearbox.
Replacing the piston itself is much cheaper than overhauling the entire clutch drum or the whole gearbox.
Installing a new piston on old, deformed seals is a guarantee of immediate failure. Always use a new set of inner and outer seals.
Before installation, inspect the inner surface of the clutch drum. Any scratches or pitting will quickly destroy the new piston seals.
Answer: Yes, this is a classic symptom of a cracked piston or damaged seals in the clutch pack responsible for the non-working direction.
Question: Can I replace just the seals without the piston?Answer: It is not recommended. Very often, the cause of the failure is an invisible micro-crack in the piston itself, which causes the new seals to "blow out". Replacing the complete set is the most reliable repair.
