A hydraulic elbow fitting is a key component connecting hoses to parts like valve blocks, cylinders, or coolers. It allows for safe routing of hoses at a 90-degree angle, preventing kinking and damage. If you notice an oil leak ("sweating" or dripping), visible cracks on the body, or a damaged thread that prevents proper tightening of the hose, these are classic signs of a worn fitting. A leak in the hydraulic system leads to oil loss, reduced performance, and poses a serious risk of pump failure.

Perfect Seal
Protection against oil loss
Only original fittings give 100% certainty of withstanding the working pressure, eliminating the risk of a sudden burst and a dangerous high-pressure oil spray.
Perfectly matched threads and sealing surfaces prevent even the smallest leaks, protecting the pump from running on low oil levels.
Using original parts is the best way to avoid unforeseen breakdowns and costly downtime.
Before loosening any hydraulic component, you must relieve the pressure in the system by moving all controls several times with the engine off.
Before removing the old fitting, thoroughly clean the area around it. Even the smallest contaminant entering the system can damage the pump or valve block.
When replacing, carefully check the condition of the hydraulic hose end. If it is damaged or corroded, replace the hose with a new one.
When tightening the hose to the elbow, always use two wrenches – one to hold the elbow and one to tighten the hose nut. This prevents damaging the thread and the fitting itself.
Answer: This is highly not recommended. The most common cause of leaks are damaged sealing surfaces (cones) or micro-cracks from vibration or overtightening. Overtightening will only damage it further.
Question: Do I need additional seals for installation?Answer: It depends on the connection type. JIC fittings seal on a metal-to-metal cone. Other types, like BSP, require a seal. Always check if there is a groove for an O-ring in the port where you are screwing the elbow.
Question: Can I use a cheaper replacement?Answer: The hydraulic system operates under immense pressure. Only original or reputable aftermarket brands (like GX-AFTER, FEROSTEM or REDX) guarantee material strength. Using cheap, non-branded fittings risks them bursting and causing a dangerous high-pressure oil spray.
