A critical drivetrain component – this is the differential housing (carrier) for the rear axle. It is a precision-cast housing that holds the differential gears (satellites and spider gears). This carrier bolts to the ring gear and transfers all torque to the axle shafts. Designed for a wide range of JCB machines, including 3CX/4CX backhoes, loaders, and JS wheeled excavators (e.g., JS130W, JS145W).
GX-AFTER is the smart choice for your machine. We provide high-class replacement parts that combine excellent quality with an attractive price. Each part is carefully verified to ensure full compatibility and reliability you can depend on.

Installing a differential is a precision operation. The inside of the axle housing must be kept perfectly clean. Any metal filings left from the old failure will immediately destroy the new mechanism. Installation requires setting the correct backlash and contact patch with the pinion gear.
The differential housing (carrier) is the structural component that holds the satellite and cross pin, and also provides the mounting for the ring gear. Its failure is catastrophic for the entire axle.

This product (450/10800) is only the housing, or "carrier." It does not include the internal satellite gears, spider gears, or cross pin. Part number 450/10900 is the complete, assembled differential mechanism containing both the housing and all internal gears.
2. Can I transfer my old satellite gears into this new housing?Yes, if the old housing cracked but the internal gears (satellites, spider gears) are in perfect condition (no pitting or chipped teeth), they can be transferred into this new 450/10800 housing. However, if the failure was internal, you must buy the complete differential (450/10900).
3. What happens if the "backlash" is set incorrectly?Setting the backlash (the small gap between the ring and pinion gear teeth) is critical. Too little backlash will cause the gears to bind, overheat, whine, and seize. Too much backlash will cause a loud "clunk" when accelerating/decelerating and will eventually chip and destroy the gear teeth.
