Skeleton (sieve) grading bucket with a width of 180 cm (1800 mm) and part number 980/86061, manufactured by NEXGEN. This is a specialized attachment used for separating material fractions (e.g., stones from soil) and land drainage works. Dedicated to JCB 3CX, 4CX backhoe loaders and mini/midi excavators in the 5-10 ton class. The bucket features a blade made of wear-resistant HB400 steel.
NEXGEN buckets feature an internal reinforcement system that prevents the wide structure (180 cm) from twisting during operation. The open-rib design allows for screening spoil directly on the construction site, saving time and transport costs.
| Machine Type | Models |
|---|---|
| Backhoe Loaders | 3CX, 4CX (All years with JCB rear attachment) |
| Mini / Midi Excavators | 8052, 8055, 8060, 8065, 8085, 65R, 67C, 85Z, 86C, 90Z, 100C |
The bucket has standard JCB mounting dimensions: 45 mm pins, 175 mm arm width, 340 mm spacing.
The bucket is supplied with mounted bushings. The set does not include pins (use existing ones or buy new ones with a diameter of 45mm). We recommend using greased pins to extend the life of the bushings.
When working with a skeleton bucket, watch out for small stones and debris falling through the gaps. Do not use the bucket to lift objects that can fall through the "sieve" and create a hazard for workers in the trench.
The skeleton bucket is used for material separation and drainage ditch cleaning.

A skeleton bucket (shaker bucket) is used for material separation: separating stones from soil, sifting rubble, and extracting material from water (water drains out, spoil remains) during drainage works.
Yes, but in light, loose soil. In hard ground, the bucket ribs create a lot of resistance, which is inefficient and can lead to structural damage.
Using a skeleton bucket allows for material recovery directly on the construction site (e.g., stones for foundation), reducing the cost of spoil removal and purchasing new aggregate. It is a pro-ecological and economical solution.
