An essential component of the engine's accessory drive system – an automatic multi-ribbed belt tensioner, designed for JCB DieselMax, EcoMax. It is a key component responsible for maintaining constant, correct tension on the belt that drives the alternator, water pump, and other components. A precision spring and a high-quality bearing in the idler pulley ensure maintenance-free operation, eliminating belt slippage and protecting the bearings of driven devices from premature wear.
By choosing GX-OEM parts, you are choosing the uncompromising quality of the original assembly. Our products are made with the highest precision, guaranteeing a perfect fit and parameters identical to the original. This is the best investment in the long and trouble-free operation of your machine.

An automatic tensioner is a key component that ensures the maintenance-free operation of the accessory belt. Its failure leads to belt slippage (problems with charging, cooling), noise, and in extreme cases, to the belt breaking and immobilizing the machine.
A broken belt always means unplanned and costly downtime.
A worn tensioner is the most common cause of premature belt wear or breakage. The cost of replacing a tensioner is negligible compared to the losses caused by a machine being immobilized in the middle of a workday. Don't take risks – order a new, OEM-quality tensioner with a new belt and enjoy the smooth operation of your engine.

With the engine off, use a wrench to move the tensioner arm through its full range of motion. The movement should be smooth, without any sticking. When released, the arm should immediately and forcefully return to its rest position. Any resistance, sticking, or weak spring force qualifies it for replacement. Also, check the pulley bearing by spinning it by hand – there should be no noise or play.
2. The belt squeals only for a moment after starting a cold engine. Is it the tensioner's fault?Very often, yes. Squealing on a cold start is a typical symptom of a worn (stretched) belt or a weakened tensioner spring that is unable to provide adequate tension when the belt is cold and stiff. The slipping stops when the belt warms up and becomes more flexible, but the problem will worsen over time.
3. Can I replace just the pulley instead of the whole tensioner? It is possible, but often not cost-effective. The main wearing component in a tensioner is not only the pulley bearing but, more importantly, the internal spring, which loses its force over time. Replacing only the pulley is a temporary fix that does not solve the problem of low belt tension.
