An essential component of the cooling system, the 334/E1182 thermostat by NEXGEN. It is designed for JCB mini-excavators (including MICRO and MINI CX series) and a wide range of machines equipped with compact Perkins engines. This thermostat, with an opening temperature of 75°C and a diameter of 34 mm, is crucial for maintaining the optimal engine operating temperature by regulating the flow of coolant between the engine and the radiator.
In the construction industry, machine reliability is the key to success. That's why we offer high-quality NEXGEN replacement parts for construction machinery, which meet the highest standards of durability and performance. Our products are the ideal solution for companies and specialists looking for reliable components at attractive prices.

The list above is for reference. Due to the vast number of compatible engines, it is crucial to confirm the opening temperature (75°C) and diameter (34mm).
When replacing the thermostat, we always recommend replacing the thermostat housing gasket. It is also wise to check the condition of the coolant hoses and the water pump.
A failed thermostat is dangerous. If it sticks closed, it will lead to rapid overheating and engine destruction (cracked head, blown gasket). If it sticks open, the engine will fail to reach operating temperature, drastically increasing fuel consumption and accelerating cylinder wear.
The 334/E1182 thermostat is an automatic valve in the cooling system. When the engine is cold, the thermostat stays closed, blocking coolant flow to the radiator (the "small circuit"), which allows the engine to warm up quickly. After reaching operating temperature (here 75°C), the thermostat opens, sending coolant to the radiator (the "large circuit") to maintain optimal temperature.

75°C is the temperature at which the thermostat *begins* to open, letting cool fluid in from the radiator. It is crucial for maintaining the optimal operating temperature – high enough for efficient combustion but low enough to prevent overheating.
It is highly likely. A thermostat stuck in the closed position is one of the most common causes of overheating. Other causes include a faulty water pump, a clogged radiator, or a broken fan.
You can place the removed thermostat in a pot of water with a thermometer. Heat the water and observe. It should start to open at approx. 75°C and be fully open around 90-95°C. If it doesn't open, it is faulty.
